Latest makeup purchases + first impressions & review

Hello everyone,
Recently I bought a few new makeup collection additions and I thought it would be nice to share them because I've noticed hauls are one of my most viewed posts-supposedly meaning obviously you guys enjoy them!

So here are a couple of my latest purchases, with a quick review and first impressions:

The first thing I picked up was the 25 hour lasting finish foundation by Rimmel.Suprisingly,I have to say I'm actually quite wowed that it actually does last practically all day because usually even concealers or powders claiming to last 16 hours or so only really manage lasting a couple of hours before slipping down my face by lunchtime*sighs*.
After I pumped the formula out I noticed that as I applied it to my face the foundation had a 'ever so slight' faint scent to it.It wasn't unpleasant at all and in my opinion rather quite nice,it's hard to describe but to me it smells quite floral and fresh(at first infact it reminded me of shampoo). The coverage for me is medium although like the glass bottle claims, you could certainly build it up to full.
In addition, the colour match(200-Soft beige)is perfect and it doesn't oxidise at all.The finish is nice,I love how it doesn't stick to drier areas on my skin but would say I wish it was matte, which I would have thought it may of been considering it's bold lasting claims.I suppose it all comes down to personal preference however especially since I find my skin has enough glow to it already from all the extra oil emitting from the awful pores lol.

Next I bought a lipstick again from the Rimmel stand because there was a buy one get one 1/2 price offer and it would've been rude not to aha.I decided on getting one from the nude Kate Moss range in the shade 43 which is a browney-coral colour with small flecks of gold glitter(extremely unnoticeable though). The lipstick glides on nicely and feels moisturising which is really good so in consequence you don't get the urge to lick your lips-something you don't look for when finding a good quility lippy. It would please every skin tone I reckon so do check it out along with the other 4 shades available which all seem to have a strong sweet cocoa/vanilla scent.

Lastly,as a result of my old Rimmel Stay Matte powder beginning to run out I thought I would give the Maybellie Matte Maker powder a go.Both cost £4 but Maybelline seemed to do less shades and didn't have a translucent option so I bought shade 30 natural beige.I quite like the powder, nothing really wows me about it...I'd say it's a bit meh (average);the powders finely milled, seems keep my makeup on for up to at least 3 hours and works well enough. To be honest I don't have much to day about this other than I feel that it has a strange scent when you give it a sniff in the pan,if you've ever smelt wallpaper glue you mighttt maybe know what I mean(unless you do this often with makeup please don't let this put you off!).

  3. I use that maybelline powder as well, and it doesn't really wow me either. Tbh, I don't think I've ever used a powder that has.
