Makeup obsessed? Why YOU should go makeup free more often

Hello everyone,
Have you ever had an "ughh" moment with makeup?Well this is the post where you lil' makeup addicts out there will learn about the fabulous reasons why the war paint should be put down and given a rest.

Unfortunately,in this day and age with social media like Instagram giving us unrealistic expectations I suppose we all have to admit that the pressure to look good 24/7 has become the norm.Afterall, who doesn't like a good selfie? Those perfected cheekbones look bomb, gotta get that them brows on fleek and ohh those 90's lips:love, love, love! However,is it all that really necessary for a trip down the shops and a lazy day at home?Eh not really and the scary thing is that some of us forget this.
#FreeThePores
You've most likely heard it a billion times and yes...sadly its true.Foundations and concealers are our biggest culprits because even though they perfect our skin like the airbrush tool in Photoshop, pores never open and close(sorry babes it's a myth)and adding in an extra layer on top of our face of course will up the chances of them becoming blocked along with all the other substances which cause, you guessed it-acne!
Learn to love your flaws
Some people feel confident with makeup on and then end up feeling uncondifent without it on.I've witnessed the complaining from my friends and I have personally gone through the same thoughts and feelings myself. The truth is its no big deal, chances are you don't look too much different, for example a spot or two doesn't mean "Hey!It's the end of the world,"because we all get them so congrats you're normal.Embrace your natural beauty once in a while whether thats your freckles, sparse eyebrows, pale skin ect and remember its what inside that counts.
"Only 4% of woman around the world consider themselves as beautiful"
Save money
Makeup ain't cheap and there's no denying it!It's not common that you buy makeup 'all the time'as if its the weekly foodshop at Tescos but over time it all adds up.Give products a miss every week or so and as ridiculous as it may sound,so they last longer(I guess it would be like savouring your favourite expensive lipstick).
"In a study,75% of woman were found to not routinely finish off their makeup products at all(not even just before they'd expired)"
No stains
Wave goodbye to makeup stains on tops, scarves, blankets, after you give someone a cheeky peck on the cheeks etc and say hello to clean, crisp white linen that you can snuggle up to without a care in the world.Seriously though, could you imagine how amazing it would be to put your face on anything you wanted to?

Save time
Personally,I don't know about you but I can spend up to 20 minutes each day doing my makeup and even up to 30 minutes if its for a special occasion which in consequence, not suprisingly takes up a lot of time in the mornings.Instead, you could put all that effort and energy aside and spend the extra time getting more beauty sleep(*claps*no more dark circles),unwinding on the sofa with a cup of tea or even treating yourself to a facemask.
"One in three woman refuse to leave the house with makeup on"
I challenge you all to give your skin a break at least once a week because I started doing so several months ago and I haven't looked back since!Confidently, I can happily say my skin is without doubt clearer and also I'm certinaly much more confident in my own skin.

    1. I suffered from the worst clogged pores so stopped wearing as much face makeup and they all went down not long after,I guess skin definitely improves if you go 'natural' more often hehe x

  2. I used to wear makeup everyday to school but I found out that I much preferred to sleep those few extra minutes lol. Now I rarely wear makeup and only minimal looks when going out :)

  4. The statistic of only 4% of women finding themselves beautiful is so sad :( You've made some really good points, especially giving our skin (and pores!) a break.

    1. Indeed,I was a little shocked myself but I guess people who openly would consider themselves as beautiful would be ridiculed for being big-headed or whatnot :/

  6. These are really good points and agree with them all. I don't wear makeup unless it's a special occasion. It's cause if I wear makeup I'll no ill stain my favourite shirt😂😋
